How we rank restaurants
We show up to 60 restaurants per search, sorted by a balanced quality score so trusted favorites rise to the top β not unproven new spots with only a few perfect reviews.
Score = average rating Γ log10(number of reviews). Multiplying by the log of the review count rewards restaurants with a proven track record without letting the busiest place automatically win.
A quick example
A 4.7-star restaurant with 2,000 reviews scores ~15.5 and ranks above a 4.9-star hidden gem with 50 reviews (~8.3) or a brand-new spot with 5.0 stars and 3 reviews (~5.0).
| Restaurant | Rating | Reviews | Score |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trusted favorite | 4.7 β | 2,000 | 15.5 |
| Popular local spot | 4.5 β | 800 | 13.1 |
| Hidden gem | 4.9 β | 50 | 8.3 |
| Brand new | 5.0 β | 3 | 5.0 |
